Stormy Weather
There's some crazy ass rain going on over here. Lots of wind, too. The lights have flickered a few times, so I won't try my luck. Looks like it's going to be a sucky weekend over here.
Me: Coming out of the library, I notice the rain is very heavy and say, "Woah! Looks like the sky opened up while we were in there.."
The Boy: Looks up at the sky and says, "Wait.. Really?"
I then had to explain the expression because he was looking for a zipper.

We always say "looks like the bottom fell out" and I remember my son saying "we better get inside before it falls on us!" Poor thing was so scared... his eyes got huge when I said it. LoL I just never thought about the expression much, just always used it... Now I have to watch what I say around him.
my favorite is "raining cats and dogs."
